Being a woman in corporate
I am woman, hear me roar
But why is it so hard to be in this world and score?
Why am I not equal in pay to a man?
When we do the same job and strive to expand.
Expand our career and ambitions
Why, whether boy or girl, isn’t that our mission?
I work hard and harder than you
To try to be noticed but my manager thinks me brand new
Don’t take my ideas and repeat my views
For I am not new
I am a woman with a voice, a vision, and I am due
Due to have the respect, the promotions, the accolades, that you get With no extra pain, and no regret
See me for who I am, and what I give each and
Every day
For I am woman and I deserve equal pay

But why is it so hard to speak and be heard
You really think I should fly off like a bird
You cut me off and try to smother
Make me think like my words are a bother
You are not the king of this conversation
My thoughts are valid and can spur inspiration
Learn to be quiet
And let women soar
For we have opinions and ideas
That can start this world’s cure
Cure the history of keeping us down
And help you recognize our crown
Back it up and give us space
For we women will not continue to give you grace
We are here to finish this race
And make it known that we earned our place
